The structure of Prelims ARS/NET 2011 will be as follows:
There will be one question paper of two and half hours duration consisting of 200 objective type multiple choice questions. Each question carries one mark. Out of 200 questions, 50 will be of General Knowledge derived from the following main categories relating to Agriculture and Allied Sciences:
1)Agricultural Sciences - Crop Improvement , Crop Protection , Basic Plant Sciences, Horticulture.
2)Veterinary Sciences- Basic Veterinary Sciences, Paraclinical Veterinary Science,Clinical Veterinary Sciences,Animal Production.
3)Fisheries Sciences- Fisheries Sciences , Fish Harvest and post Harvest Technology.
4)Natural Resource Management- Forestry and Environmental Science, Agronomy and Agricultural Meteorology, Soil Sciences.
5)Social Sciences-Home Science and Family Resource management , Economics and Agricultural Business Management ,Agricultural extension, Statistics and Computer Application.
6)Agricultural engineering Technology- Farm Machinery and Energy,Post Harvest Engineering and Technology, Land and Water Engineering, Food Science and Technology.
7)Dairy Sciences and Technology- Dairy Basic Sciences, Dairy Engineering and Technology.
8) Basic Engineering and Textile Sciences- (FOR ARS ONLY)- Basic Engineering , Textile Science .
